Beechcroft House

The house is a contemporary low slung building, nestling behind the existing wall and embedded into its surroundings by the established planting.

Reduced glazing to the north facade reduces heat loss, with the inhabited rooms orientated to the south and to the view of the established garden.

Living accommodation on the ground floor is centred on a curved glazed wall, allowing views of the garden whilst providing a sheltered area of outdoor space, not overlooked by neighbours.

Poor ground conditions led to the use of a piled foundation solution with suspended ground floor slabs. Super structure was a steel frame with shallow beams built into the floor depth to achieve a slim and flat floor zone.
