Having delivered projects in a 2D environment for a number of years, utilising many CAD packages, the Alan Johnston Partnership LLP are now committed to BIM and using Revit and Civils 3D as our main BIM tools. This is complimented with our experience in Structural Analysis and other Civil Engineering packages where the need arises.
We are involved in many BIM projects where, co-ordinating and collaborating with Contractors, Architects and Building Services, we ensure that they are fully integrated in the BIM process and deliver projects to current industry wide BIM protocols and British Standards. Our own AJP teams working on BIM projects will have varying degrees of integration with the rest of the design team, depending on BIM maturity of the design team, from full sharing, co-location and IFC exchange of the BIM (openBIM), to single environment models.
Within Alan Johnston Partnership LLP we are continuously testing and pushing the boundaries of what our software can do. Maintaining consistent modelling practices and standards we try to deliver as many projects as we can in a BIM environment to our clients benefit. As part of our commitment to BIM all our technicians are having on-going training in the use of Revit software or Civils 3D and any new employees will be required to undertake the same training. Our existing employees ensure this training is followed up with some project mentoring to ensure the maximum efficiencies and benefits can be found from using BIM on projects.
